I am running Mint Linux 18.3 64-bit.
I installed Kdenlive by going to this page downloading the kdenlive-18.04.0-x86_64.AppImage image file and adding a launcher to the image file on my desktop. https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ ... mirrorlist When I start Kdenlive it comes up in the full screen mode and I am unable to minimize it (no typical "- + X" controls are seen) and it stays full screen even when I go to Settings > Exit Full Screen mode and unmark that option. And the Ctrl +Shift + F command does not change anything. And I have tried clicking and dragging the corners as you would in most apps but that will not work either. I can't get much use out of this if it only runs in the full screen mode, I need to access other programs and controls and menus. I am not sure if I have this installed right but it seems to be working normally as I start trying to learn to use it. Jack

If it helps with an answer or explains why I did the install the way I did (Kdenlive was installed as an appimage) the explanations on this page indicated to me that it was a good thing to do:

OK, I have this fixed now. The problem was that I was not seeing the top of the application window and, for that reason, I was not seeing the uppermost title bar with the normal "- + X" buttons on the right end.
I went to this page: https://launchpad.net/~kdenlive/+archiv ... ive-stable Ran these two command lines from a terminal window:
Restarted Mint Linux and when I started Kdenlive it was in a reduced size window and would shuttle between full screen and reduced from the top right controls or the Settings > Full Screen Mode menu choice or if I used the Ctrl + Shift + F keyboard command. The version I have installed, after using the appimage install and then doing the above to fix it, is still 18.04 so I still have a up to date install from the appimage. So I am now ready to learn how to use Kdenlive! Jack |
