Since a few weeks kdenlive fills places with no video up with white instead of black.
For example : when i use a 4:3 clip in a 16:9 project the pillarbars are white instead of black.

Is there a chance this can be changed?
For me it is more natural if non-used pixels are black.

If you load an old project you have the same behavior?
