i have a short video clip, added to the timeline. I want to splice the video at the moment a menu drops down. When I play the video in the monitor, it shows the dropdown. When I click back, just before the dropdown, it's like the dropdown never happened. I can't really explain, so here is a video...

It seems the video shows the screen recording only. Can you make a screen recording which shows the project itself with all video tracks?

I am not sure exactly what you mean, as this video is a screen capture of the program reproducing the issue. This video illustrates the systemic problem in Kdenlive across all projects. It doesn't matter which clip I put in, track I use or which project I try to use, all of them do this.

Aah, I know what you mean. The “drop-down” start around sec. 4 and is just 10-15 frames long. When you start at 3sec. 10 frame the “drop-down” doesn’t come anymore. Correct?
I assume you work with mp4. I Think it’s a problem how Kdenlive/FFMPEG interprets the I-, P-, B-Frame. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_com ... ture_types. As you have almost no action in the video you have only, let’s say all second or so a real picture. All other pictures in-between are interpolated. If you place now the play head exactly after such a real (I-Frame) picture the “drop-down” doesn’t come because the decoder only sees the P- or B-Frame or data without drop down information. So you have demonstrated how mp4 works. The rendering works fine I assume. |
