I'm interested to know if anyone thinks there are any particular advantages or disadvantages to using a particular Linux distribution for Kdenlive? I've used Linux Mint for a while, and I've decided to try a different distro. Ubuntu Studio seems to be a logical choice for me, as I want a distro that is user friendly. Also, would there be any pros or cons to using Kdenlive with one Linux desktop or another?
Thanks! |

I’m on Windows and run Kdenlive in a VM with Lubuntu. I can’t run it under Ubuntu as the desktop is to “heavy” and slows down Kdenlive.
I think the distro is not that important. Important is to run the AppImage otherwise it could be not having a proper/complete installation of Kdenlive. |

Have tried Kdenlive on Mint KDE, Kubuntu and Manjaro KDE edition. I am working on a mid range laptop and have found that Manjaro KDE edition has been the best for speed and stability. My personal opinion is that the KDE desktop might be integrated better in Manjaro so Kdenlive seems a lot faster and more stable.
I used to be a Mint fan but started to lose my 'faith' seemed that the Mint team was stretched accross too many projects and their Ubuntu based distro seems slugish beside the Arch based Manjaro distro. Milo |
