Hello,
it is happening pretty frequently that when I reopen a project between the subtitle lines I created I find a number of empty lines.
For example, I create a subtitle like:
Hello, this is a subtitle
just created

Then I save the project and most of the times I find this:
Hello, this is a subtitle

just created

with 2, 3 and even more empty lines I edited a number of times the subtitles but no way, the problem is still there.

Thanks for the help, Mau

I assume you work with title clip to create subtitle. This could be a character set issue.

- Which language and character set do you use?
- Change the language to English and try again.
- Open the Kdenlive project file. Do you see some strange character in you subtitle text?

- Which Kdenlive version and operating system?

Hi,
I'm using version 18.12.1, and I had the same problem with 17.12.0 .
I' working with Windows 10.

Yes, I'm using title clips.
I'm, using Italian set of chatacters.
No strange caracheter are appearing in the titles.
I'm not using any strange character, just simple plain text plus comma, colon and point
I paste from notepad into a text box and it appears as a single line, that ofteb is a relatively long sentece.
Then manually I add a return to split it in more than 1 line.
Maybe this could be the cause of the problem.
As said, when re opening it is like I've added more that one return.

I couldn't find how to control the size of the text box.
I also couldn't find any way to automatically wrap the text, that woukld probably avoid the problem.

Thanks, Mau.

I could not reproduce it, neither in Windows not with Linux and the AppImage.
Seems a similar case then this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404877. Waiting on the Kdenlive file to check it.
