i am using Kdenlive-18.08.2 windows version timeline preview is very smooth, but with version 18.12.1, 18.12.2 and 19.04 Beta timeline preview is very slow almost not working even with proxy.
Any idea?

Can you make sure you are using the same profile (resolution)?
Are you using some effects like transform or rotoscoping?

18.12 and onward is built with Craft, which activates Qt's OpenGL "emulation" through DirectX,
is your DirectX setup up-to-date?

After Qt documentation, Qt OpenGL backend can be switched through environment variables:

Can you test with QT_OPENGL="desktop" or "angle", and with "angle", QT_ANGLE_PLATFORM="d3d11" or "d3d9" or "warp"?
