I believe I have accidentally narrowed down the problem on Kdenlive 19.04 in Windows that makes the right-click menu close almost immediately after right clicking the timeline. See here https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/132. Changing Settings > Style to Fusion seems to cause this problem. Changing the style to Default or another style seems to fix the problem.

I thought it was fixed. Could you try with 19.04.1.

I'm using the latest beta version "Beta 15.May 2019 Windows portable version". For me, as long as I have the Fusion style selected, the problem occurs.

As a side note, the portable version isn't truly portable because it still reads and writes to the user's application data folders. All of the settings should be contained in the Kdenlive folder.

you are right, i think that "portable" may cause misunderstanding ... "archive" is a better and REAL name for this "flavour" of Kdenlive for Windows.
BTW i can confirm that the right mouse click on the timeline has wrong behaviors (using FUSION setting) ... it's necessary to keep the button pressed to avoid selecting and executing some random actions.

again it's necessary to make "Windows" the default style of the Windows version.

Confirmed. Thanks for reporting. Only when style “fusion” is selected the problem occurs.

Portable: yes that’s true. Kdenlive read/writes all data to the folder appdata. The source code is for Linux and Windows the same. The craft compilation creates an install version and a 7zip “portable” version.

Thanks for suggestion.
I renamed it to “standalone”.
And I updated the manual about the style: https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Windows_Issues

A truly portable version would be nice though... And as a general suggestion, Kdenlive's error handling and recovery should be improved when reading from the kdenliverc file, cache, and project files. If a certain error is encountered, it should at least ask what to do or confirm what was done to work around the problem. This seems to be one of the most common problems I see in the forums.
