I've upgraded to version 19.4.1 and I'm getting used to some differences, but there's one thing I can't find out how to resolve.
Dragging a clip into the time line generates a separate audio track that is linked to the video. WHere can I find the option to stop this happening please... so that the audio shows on the video track like it used to. |

I've put my workflow issues in this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuM72yJPtnE - and I hope that someone can guide me to the necessary settings to change things, as sometimes I'm working with so many tracks that I just have to revert to an older version.... and the inability to drag the timeline bar is back... and it's also migrated to the older version as well
When I did my channel title video, that had 12 tracks on top of each other. Working with separate audio tracks for everything would have been a major headache. |

The playhead problem and that you can’t grab the composite seems to be a problem with the kdenliverc file as you run different versions of Kdenlive. Delete kdenliverc (See here https://community.kde.org/Kdenlive/Configuration) and restart Kdenlive.
Make sure that the path setting point to the correct FFMPEG files (Hit CTRL+SHIFT+, (comma)-> Environment -> make sure all paths point to the correct Kdenlive version). In 19.04 it’s not possible to have video and audio on 1 track. They are always split. But you can minimize each track by click on arrow just left to i.e. A1. Or you can resize each track with the mouse as you like (see here: https://kdenlive.org/en/2019/04/kdenliv ... -released/). Resizing of the 720x576 clip: us the effect transform and make sure you lock the aspect ratio (the icon between wide and high). To make sure you haven’t any packaging issues it’s always a good idea to run the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.04.1c https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ |

Thank you for the information. I'll do all that.
The lack of audio and video on 1 track is something which I very, very much hope will be given as an option in the future, as many tracks will be difficult to handle. At the very least, it needs to auto-insert audio tracks when there are no free tracks available, rather than fail to insert the clip. Hopefully, these things will come. |

Deleting the config file didn't solve the issue, unfortunately. I'm going back to 17.12

Thanks to your video. I dig a bit deeper into the timeline issue and I found a strange behavior of the timeline when adding and removing clips. I opened issue: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/198.
For the missing track I opend issue: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/199 |

I too would like to have the option to not split audio and video channels of a clip.
