Hi there,
I havent been here for a while, but it s always good to be back I have a more general question regarding file management and relative and hard wired paths, and I hope this topic is not too hard for me to understand.. i use kdenlive and lightworks on a daily basis for video editing and use sometimes one program, sometimes the other, depending on the projects scale and tasks. whatI would like to do: I want to create a project on an external drive, and work on it on different computers, keeping the project on that external harddrive. As on linux the mountpoints on different systems usually are different, I am wondering: how does the programs find the media again when it is mounted to a different mountpoint on a different computer? I m working now on a workstation in the studio and on a laptop on the road and in an ideal world I could run around with my hdd and just connect to any computer with kdenlive and lightworks installed to run my sessions.. could you help me out here? unfortunately i m not a programmer, but still try to understand this, as i run a lot into problems with media not available etc.... thank you |
