Maybe we can find out if this is an i7 issue only.

Tested on v19.08.01 (WIndows 10) i7-8750H 2.2GHz 6 Cores:
From step 2-4 and start replay project, it took less than 5s. But my clip is 720p.

Just tested v19.12, the dragging preview is working. From now on I can move to the latest version.
Thank you for the fix, a great Xmas gift ;D

I opened my v18 project in v19. For some reason, some clips in the timeline are showing different colors, see screenshot.
The clips marked with red are showing black on preview.
It's a 720HD project using a single 1080 video clip and I split it using Position & Zoom. Most of them have only one (start) key frame.
Some don't show the key frame, see arrow in screenshot. Interestingly, those clips can be pre-viewed. Other having a start key frame are showing black in preview.
The preview works as soon as I disable the P&Z effect.

I'm not sure, but I think/guess I found a fix for my preview problem.
When I started using v19.12 (from v18) I encountered this problem:
viewtopic.php?f=59&t=153867
I ended up renamed the file:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\kdenliverc
and let v19 create a new one. Then I found the preview problem has been fixed.

When I had other issues in v19 I went back to v18 (using the old kdenliverc) to finish an old project.
Then for a new project I started using v19. This time there was no QT problem and I forgot the kdenliverc totally. Then I was surprised that the preview is no longer working. So I did the rename again and preview is back working.

Conclusion, if any v18 user has preview problem in v19 he can try to rename the file kdenliverc.

usually deletion of "kdenliverc" is the first thing to do on troubleshooting guide...

Cannot open projects made with previous version, timeline snaps back, cannot import clip

Press Win + R (Windows key and R key simultaneously) and type appdata. Go to local and within it rename kdenliverc to kdenliverc.old. Start Kdenlive -> do nothing -> close Kdenlive -> and restart Kdenlive again.

usually i delete all folders/files related to Kdenlive when switching to a new daily build. (this just to prevent any issue with changed configuration files ) :)
