Hi all, I've been using Kdenlive for years, and have just updated my desktop to Ubuntu 19.10 to find some features have disappeared.
If I right click on a clip, I can no longer cut the clip, the option is gone. I have to use the scissors selector which I don't like doing as takes me a lot longer to edit a video. Dissolve is missing as a clip transition - which maybe have been replaced with composite? But that's missing too. The interface looks terrible, like looking at Solaris from the 1990s, so I know some KDE theme s/w must be missing. Any idea what is going on? |

Well... Cut clip has turned into Split at playhead...

For me, the dissolve transition is present. However, it seems quite pointless: the wipe transition does what dissolve does but just much better, so just use the wipe transition.
To change the theme, in the top menu, it is settings > colour theme. Please can you show a screenshot of how kdenlive currently looks? To split a track, yes you can do "split at playhead", but the easier method is to do "Shift+R" when you have a clip selected and your playhead is over the part you want to cut. You can also move to playhead more precisely using the left and right arrow keys. |

Thank you for your reply.
Dissolve isn't there at all, I'm having to use composite which is good because it allows me to control the fade, but bad as it's much more time consuming. I assumed wipe was a side to side transition, dissolve is like a crossfade. I'll try shift R thanks. I don't think I can post a screenshot so I posted it here: https://imgur.com/a/tVMVE9f If I change to the Fusion theme it's slightly better, but it's not as good as it looked before I upgraded. There must be some kind of KDE theme package missing I guess. That's in Settings > Style. Colour theme is there in the menu, but it doesn't do anything, nothing happens when I hover or click on it. I'm also getting frequent 'Using AVStream.codec to pass codec parameters to muxers is deprecated' which has never happened before. Sometimes a video will render, sometimes not. |
