Inside the preview, one can only grab the corners or the center of an object (in the Transform and Position & Zoom ) and various other effects while they are on screen.
When they are not on-screen, one has to alter the pixel values (enter number or using shift + scroll wheel) to move objects around. The vector graphics editor InkScape allows holding Alt (on Windows) or Alt+Super (on Linux) to move the selected object while grabbing it anywhere, even outside of it. |

it's not necessary to have similar things.. you have just to reduce the preview windows size (using button on right side of preview window) and freely move object out of screen an also very far from final view.
