Cannot seek video, why?

Wed Feb 12, 2020 1:50 pm
Hi

Problem:
If I download one of my Youtube Videos* via youtube-dl and I insert it into kdenlive (19.12.2, mlt 6.18.0-3, ffmpeg 1:4.2.2-2)
then I cannot seek in the timeline. I can just press play and the video plays but pausing the video and step forward with the mousewheel
does nothing. The preview does not change.
ffmpeg shows me this video format:
Code: Select all
Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'Mustool G600 microscope error problem power-ETgQxUOszMI.mp4':
  Metadata:
    major_brand     : dash
    minor_version   : 0
    compatible_brands: iso6avc1mp41
    creation_time   : 2020-02-07T10:06:43.000000Z
  Duration: 00:00:41.71, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 304 kb/s
    Stream #0:0(und): Video: h264 (Main) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, bt709, progressive), 640x360 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 301 kb/s, 29.99 fps, 29.97 tbr, 11988 tbn, 59.94 tbc (default)
    Metadata:
      creation_time   : 2020-02-07T10:06:43.000000Z
handler_name    : ISO Media file produced by Google Inc.

Is there a way to make this video seekable (reencoding is okay), or is this another issue with my configuration.
I cant cut that video proper if I cannot seek it frame by frame... :(

Somehow solved by deleting:
.cache/kdenlive
.config/kdenliverc
.local/share/kdenlive
