theme issue

Sun Feb 23, 2020 5:32 am
I am new here so I hope this is the eight place for this post.

I just installed kdenlive to my Ubuntu 19.01. It is opening and opening vidoes but everything is white. The workspace, buttons, everything. I tried to go to theme the the color theme option is greyed out.

How do I change the theme so I am able to see all the buttons?

I used the ppa/ terminal way of installation. Not sure if this really matters.

This mean that themes folder can't be accessed by Kdenlive, do you have granted read/write permissions to the appimage?

can you try the 2019 version of Kdenlive? https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ ... 4.appimage

Man.... I had this problem for a long time and finally found the solution. This should be in a wiki or something.
The problem is (well at least it was in my case) that you are missing the Breeze Icon theme. So just install Breeze and you are done :)

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install breeze

Hope this helps.

EDIT:
To clarify if anyone from the Kdenlive team is reading this. I use Ubuntu 19.10 and I did not have this problem when I installed the version from the Ubuntu repository. However, after I added the Kdenlive ppa, I encountered this problem. I guess you need to make sure that Breeze gets installed with kdenlive too when installing from Kdenlive ppa.
