I am very new to video editing and have completed 6 projects for my wife's youtube cooking channel. Until today everything worked great. The only difference I can see is the finished length of this project is 24 minutes whereas the others were 13 minutes or less. I have been rendering to MP4 just because it seemed right. This time I crashed - over and over again. I tried rendering to WebM but it still crashes. Below is the last crash message. Oh by the way I seem to recall some pop up notice when I first imported my files into Kdenlive and don't recall exactly what it said but I just agreed to what ever answer seemed the safe one. I use Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia and Kdenlive 19.12.2 Thanks for your help.

I agree, overall Kdenlive works very well, but sadly there is still a lot of strange crash issues.

There is not much you can do, I am afraid, except for try to re-create the entire project.

You could also try to use the .appimage version, as it seems to be more stable for me. The version in the repositories might be outdated and/or unstable due to dependencies in Linux. I often forget to use the appimage, and then I will instead launch the one I installed through the repositories, which is kinda unstable.

Also, you might not need to re-create the project, so I would first try to save it, and then open it from the appimage.

Ok so I started to redo the project and saw the small message that asked if I want to switch to the clip format. I clicked switch then looked at the project settings to compare to my original project settings and I noted a difference. Maybe I neglected to click "switch" in my original project. So I changed the original project settings manually and tried again. It stalled out in MP4 but it worked fine in webM so I guess I solved my problem. Thanks for responding.

Glad you fixed it. webM might be a bit worse quality than h.264, but it is a open format, and very well supported.
