Greetings all!

I have a problem using kdenlive
I am working on mp4 / 50fps files
I use ubuntu (bionic beaver)

when I try to convert a clip to proxy, I got the following message: clip-type does not support proxies

kdenlive creates the proxy but it is white and it does not play and I can not drag it to the timeline
it creates a *.mkv file in the proxy folder, but with a size of a few bytes...

this happens with data from my sony ax53, the mp4 files from my mobile phone are converted to proxy with no problems

Has anyone an idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for reporting. We track it under https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive/-/issues/695. We like to test further. Could you upload on dropbox or somewhere else a small sample clip of your mentioned camera? It would be very helpful.
