How can I keep SVG transparency?

Sat Jul 04, 2020 3:21 am
I've imported an svg into a kdenlive project.

The SVG is simply a large image with a transparent background. But when dropped into a track, the image just shows as all black.
The transparency has been replaced with black.

There's a very old video tutorial on youtube about how to fix this.
But the video is many years old. The video is hard to follow because it uses a version of kdenlive with a very different UI from recent versions.

Thanks.

Bumping this.

I still haven't found a solution, and I still can't find anything on the web about this.

Is it even possible for kdenlive to use transparent SVG's while keeping their transparency?

usually i use PNG images... (with 256 transparent layers) .. when the image is dropped on a clip.. just place a "transform" effect to better place and resize the image (and to activate the transparency)

my suggestion? SVG to PNG
