I'd like to alter audio properties of a clip that I've dropped onto the timeline.
I right-click on the clip and hit 'split audio'. The track does not get split. Am error message shows on the bottom right of the kdenlive window. The message says 'audio split failed'. What could be happening here? How do I get on with splitting out the audio? thanks. |

what mean "alter properties " ?
if you mean change speed... it's just necessary to UNGROUP the audio from the video.. and apply a speed change... if you need to apply an effect... just drop an effect on it... if you want to move left or right the audio on timeline... just UNGROUP it. |

As far as I can tell, UNGROUP is related to grouping and ungrouping clips. It has nothing to do with audio. What I'm trying to do specifically is split the audio. However, when I try to do so I get an error message: "audio split failed". This is entirely unrelated to grouping clips. |

Oh yeah, something else I should have added earlier.
If I try and mute the clip then I get a fail as well. When I drag the Mute effect to the clip I get an error message saying "cannot add effect Mute to selected clip". I just watched another tutorial on how to alter audio properties of a clip. I discovered that you can alter the audio levels using the effect 'Volume(keyframable)'. However, if I drag this onto the clip I get the error message "cannot add effect 'Volume(keyframable)" If it's relevant: the clip uses the AAC audio codec and the H.264 video codec. Is there an issue with kdenlive editing AAC ? (I'm just guessing wildly. I don't know much about video/audio editing) |

can you provide a very small clip? btw.. audio-split is used to recreate the audio track if the primary clip was UNGROUPED and the audio track was deleted.
from today build.. the name is changed on : RESTORE AUDIO (available on video tracks) and RESTORE VIDEO (on audio tracks) https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenl ... 05ff717e05 are you dropping the AUDIO effect on the audio component of the clip? (because you can't drop it on the video part) |
