I am trying to add a title, and checking "show background" turns the background into dark. No frame image is shown. The steps to reproduce is shown below. Being a beginner to Kdenlive, can somebody help how to get this going?
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ OS: Windows 10 Kdenlive Version : kdenlive-20.04.1_standalone & kdenlive-19.12.3_standalone (other versions not tested) How to reproduce? 1. Add a video to the timeline 2. Add a "Title clip" in project bin 3. In the "Title Clip" dialog check "show background" Result: The background turns dark. Expected the current frame should be displayed. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ |

I've got the same problem.
I think it was part of an earlier release. I believe there's a complete title overhaul in the next release. |

There seems to be a workaround. I have not tested it properly, hence may have side effects.
Here is the workaround. Under Settings -> OpenGL backend -> Check "Auto" Application will ask to restart to make the changes. After that you add a new title clip. Add some text. Close the dialog. Make sure, you have show background checked. (Don't add to timeline yet). Drag the video and title clip on top in the timeline as usual. Position the marker on an overlapping frame of video and text clip. Click on the title clip on the project bin, and towards the right you get "edit clip" Now press the "edit clip" you will get the edit dialog with the background. To me it seems the problem is when DirectX is the back end, and may only be a windows issue. |
