Since using Windows 10 stand alone ver. 20.04.1 the monitor is choppy and jerky I tried to set proxy clip, but the are only white boxes and unusable.
Maybe my laptop is not suitable?

On the bottom left corner of the clip monitor or project monitor you can change the playback resolution. Set it to 720 or 540 and try again. If you get a striped video go to the timeline far left end, click on the icon with the line and dot, track composition, set it to none.
