first of all thanks alot for giving us this good tool which is much much better for me then all other linux video tools.
im trying to use the gpu rendering mode which works on appimage but not on repo installed or source installed version... nvec is not found on ffmpeg i did tryed everything but it not works! i think there is some problem on me! and i dont know if this is important but i have this warning on kdenlive: and this is i need to show too i think: this is what i did to see the nvidia option is enabled: and i added this: but this is what i get after reopen kdenlive: on rendering it still not using nvidia! i have rtx2060 gpu but sadly i use the cpu... the other problem is this: it shows that my video is front of laptop png on the preview but on export the video is black... this is annoying other error is if i select the motion effect named freeze i get crash:
vaninfo output:
vdpauinfo output:
maybe rendering with gpu works because of appimage is using melt version of 6.23? but that version is not even on the official site of melt? im using kali linux the latest version. please please PLEASE help me to solve this that i can use this beautiful tool since it is working on appimage i hope it means i do somethings wrong. please say me what more i need to post with commands. thanks! |

I am not an expert on the gpu stuff and heard somewhere in the net, that things should not really work out of the box with acceleration. I have tried to install and use kdenlive on kubuntu 18.04 some time ago, which did never work on my machine. I tried different appimages, repos and versions but I have ended up using kdenlive in ubuntustudio.
I would recommend to install a dual boot system and use ubuntustudio (kdenlive is preinstalled there). My experience is that kdenlive works way better in ubuntustudio than in other distros, which are not specifically dedicated to video/audio production. cheers. |

but appimage is rendering with gpu like i said... the problem with appimage is: not using gpu on preview... thats the reason im trying to get work the repo version. but the repo version is rendering from cpu but preview from gpu hahaha i think there is somethings to do with ffmpeg but if moderators, developpers answer this post i think many people can fix this.
i dont think im the only one who have this problem. |
