I am noticing bizarre behaviour when inserting still clips (.png and .jpg) into the timeline. First behaviour: the default length (5s) appears to act as maximum length so that the clip cannot be extended either by dragging or through the context menu. Second: the clip appears in the timeline with a 1 frame length and cannot be adjusted. This does not appear to apply to all still clips, so may be related to the clip format, but in other apps the clips behave as expected. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
EDIT kdenlive version 19.12.3 on ubuntu 20.04 The problem clips are created with gimp, and behaviour depends on how the project profile has been set. If set automatically, the inserted clip has 1 frame length. If left unchanged, or set manually to match the clip, or not to match, the clips have maximum 5s length. I'm not sure if I can attach one of my clips. |

I am on kdenlive 20.08.1 in Windows 10 and I do not experience this behavior. Image clips can be adjusted to any length/duration once in the timeline irrespective of their format (e.g. PNG, JPG).
And what do you mean with "behaviour depends on how project profile has been set"? Or are you referring to an image sequence? If so, this is a different concept: image sequences are for, say, animations, where you have one image per frame. So you don't want to import them one by one (because there are so many). You can configure that in the kdenlive settings (not the project specific settings). EDIT: Here is an image of the kdenlive settings: https://i.imgur.com/0m1uOVW.png

Thanks, bartoloni. 19.12.3 is the version in the standard Ubuntu repository. I've now upgraded to 20.08.0. At first attempt, it appears to be showing the same behaviour. I've worked around the problem in the project I was dealing with, so I can't check it in exactly the same situation. I'll try to recreate it in the next couple of days. Do you have a link to the bug report? |

hi,
I'm using kdenlive Version 20.08.3. and having the similiar problem here Everytime I add new image to project bin, it's duration always set in 10 minutes. I've changed the default duration in Configure Kdenlive > Misc, but the duration for image still 10 minutes It's quite a hassle if I have to change the duration every image I add Is it a bug, or just I don't know where the setting is? |

I have the same issue in 2022. I use the latest version, of course.
The 5 seconds limits for the image clips is still there. Does it happen to the Windows user only? |
