Template and/or ripple edit

Mon Jan 04, 2021 2:53 pm
Hi!

The newest version is awesome!

I have this problem where projects containg always basically same structure with almost
same length clips. Is there a way to make a template?

Here is what I have tried so far. I generate mlt-files with mlt-cli and then I make a project
using those ".mlt"-files as clips. Now I am able to update mlt-files with commandline (even
having multiple files inside one mlt) and the project works well with one exception. I can not
update the length of the clip in the timeline, because there is no ripple edit feature in Kdenlive (AFAIK).

What I want to do is to grab the clip's end and drag it so that next clip moves. (= Clip A extends and
B moves forward in the timeline.)

What other ways might there be to achieve same idea?

What I want is:
- Same intro and outro clips in the project
- Same music clips with same processing settings (normalize, fade in/out)
- Same audio settings inside used clips (fade in/out, possible mute, normalize etc)

So next time I have new takes (clips) only thing I want to do is "update" the project (or is there
any other way to tell Kdenlive to update data about underlying actual files.)
