Hello, i am howtokdenlive, i am very very dedicated to learning kdenlive and i am currently in the process of trying to learn kdenlive but what i have noticed is that there aren't any up to date tutorial videos of kdenlive and those that are out of date are simply just bad, they don't explain the basic concepts of starting a project, what the project bin or timeline is, and ultimately just aren't very good, i want to create a youtube channel that changes that and goes over each individual concept individually to help new people learn and understand kdenlive.

this is my youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpuVLO ... DH3BPp2LZA

i also have a discord https://discord.gg/p9bGqtYaVw

what i hope to do is speak to someone who really knows how to use kdenlive, learn from them and then create and flesh out a youtube channel that can really help people learn kdenlive from now on, if any of you are very good and experienced with kdenlive, and are willing to help me make the youtube video series to help new people, let me know, thank you!

i made some videos... but the nature of Kdenlive make all videos "old" afetr a year.. there are interface changes every week (on nightly builds) new features added every month... and also effects (and dialog parts) removed at every release... i made a lot of video about Auto-mask and motion tracking.. but this feature will be (probably) removed on next release due to instability issues during rendering. also a video about the subtitle function (that now is a lot different) ...
i think that a "official" kdenlive tutorial channel now is a little "premature" .. BTW i can suggest only to write on every tutorial what is the version of Kdenlive USED and on what platform.

got a link to your videos? also i noticed that kdenlive has a big problem of changing every week and every update, i want to do my videos a little differently, i want to introduce concepts in my videos and see if that can help people in the future with kdenlive, idk, but if you have a discord please come talk to me on voice i would love to speak with you more about this.

Hmm, I don't see this as a problem - on the contrary: I think this is great to have bug fixes resolved quickly, and new features made available, and improve on the UI based on user feedback. I really do appreciate the effort and commend the developers for providing a feature-rich and powerful NLE software for free!

So I like the approach to talk about concepts as it would make the videos/tutorials somewhat tool agnostic. That requires a pretty good grasp of such concepts and experience in using the many features and effects of kdenlive or any video editor for that matter. Arkengheist is using kdenlive very creatively and one can learn from her tutorials a great deal about the concepts. And all the other tutorials out there convey the concepts even if the kdenlive version they were done with is outdated.

i see it as a titanic problem, because kdenlive changes every 5 minutes and the kdenlive don't bring out new tutorials, it means that you make an already steep learning curve for beginners even steeper, but that's part of why i am trying to make my videos to help out myself and new people

who is Arkengheist? where are there tutorial videos? are you talking about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-AreNf ... ngheist2.0

they are good videos if you are intermediate, but i honestly have no idea what she is talking about because i'm simply not there yet, but if you find any beginner friendly videos or you want to help me let me know! thanks

Hello again, it's been a while :)) (yes i'm everywhere)
Before you try to make videos, as you said, you have to learn about kdenlive yourself. So start with that, why would somebody teach just you so you can take all the credit by making your videos with their knowledge?
And also, as it has already been said, kdenlive changes a lot so your videos are bound to be outdated as well, i don't really get your idea.

Some of my videos are beginner friendly, although they assume you know what the timeline is:

Yep, that's her! Indeed, she uses the kdenlive effects and features very creatively and efficiently.

And, yes, a great many people are here to help with issues and questions.

what credit is there to take? i make these videos for me, not for anyone else, the reason i post the channel on here is to give people an idea of what i already know and what i want to create for myself, however if other people want to learn from my channel i think that's awesome, but if you don't want to share "your" knowledge because you want ot keep the "credit" then that's you, i believe in making FOSS as easy and simple to learn as possible

and while my videos will be outdated by the time the next update comes out, these videos are for me, and i think they will help me in the future no matter how many updates kdenlive goes through.

I have Discord for one, but also I have used kdenlive on windows and linux, I really don't know too much about stuff when it comes to the program but I wouldn't mind sharing what I do know or joining some sort of group to help facilitate tutorial videos. IDK anywho thought I'd respond.

There are two discord channels/servers out there about kdenlive: The one from howtokdenlive and Arkengheist. Then there is a Telegram channel (with a cross-over to Matrix) where the developers hang out and a lot of interesting discussions are taking place.
Then there is a kdenlive subreddit with good discussions and knowledge sharing.
And then of course a myriad of kdenlive tutorials on YT.

If you want to share your knowledge and experience, or just engage in meaningful discussion with other users or even the devs there are plenty opportunities. Check out the kdenlive documentation workgroup where you can help improving the documentation which also includes short videos showing how to do things in kdenlive.

Just be open and proactive and engage with the user community ...
