Hii all,

I have old VHS tapes. About a week ago I sent one VHS cassette to a shop offering service ripping VHS on DVD disc. After delivery I played the DVD disc on PC and found part of the video not very clear, blurry. There are 4 .VOB files on DVD disc

On Internet searching I found kdenlive. Please advise whether it is the right software for sharpening video?
If YES, please advise where can I find the tutorial?
If NO, please advise its alternatives

Thanks in advance

Regards

the SHARP/UNSHARP effect is a very common effect (you can find it on standard Kdenlive effects) ... but an out of focus video can't be trasformed on a focused video... and also... VHS noise or distortions can't be removed with ANY software...
an also... if you are taking the clips from an already DVD converted format (very poor MPG2 format) there are probably compression artifact also on it (not present on original VHS)
BTW you can find a lot of tutorial on Youtube about tricks to increase sharpness (using any software i think) .. but they are applicable just to a simple scene... maybe with just a small out-of-focus issue.

Agree! You never can 'get back' what isn't there. Can't make it 'more' then it is.
You can only sharpen the video slightly for what it has in it. With the already mentioned function. Make it some nicer to watch.
