Hello,
I am having difficulty in syncing an audio file (music) with still images that I've added to the project. I have done this in the past (6 or 7 years ago or so... not sure of which version I was using then) and did not have this difficulty, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to sync the images to the beats of the music file. I can accomplish this in kdenlive and view on the timeline. Generally, I can edit the image durations to 21 frames for my particular audio file, although I need to tweak occasionally to maintain the sync... some images I adjust to 22 frames. The overall duration is less than 50 seconds. When I render the file, at the beginning, predictably, the images are in sync, but within a few seconds, they are obviously not sync'ed any longer. By the end of the file, they are off by nearly 0.5 seconds. I'm using h264 compression. I've tried the audio file in both mp3 and wav files (converted to wav within kdenlive). Rendering at HD, 30 frames per second. Using kdenlive version 20.08.3, MLT version 7.2.0. Running on an updated arch linux machine. I've considered trying to 'shrink / shorten" the length of the audio file (the video / image stills runs faster / gets 'ahead' of the audio), but that seems like too much of a kludge... really would like to be able to solve the problem within kdenlive, so it renders with the same timing as shown in the timeline. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |

I'm having the same problem with kdenlive version 21.08.3, MLT 7.1.0. It was also reported in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=265&t=173328 ...where someone suggested that it could be related to this bug: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenl ... ssues/1231 When I close the project and reopen it, the images have the incorrect length, as reported in that issue. Have you found a workaround? Is there a previous version we could download that doesn't have this bug? |

I tried downloading an old version (17.12.3) of kdenlive through the Debian package manager, to see if it would be able to compile the project, but the format of the project file is incompatible. My next step will be to try an earlier release of version 21 (21.x.x), either by downloading it from somewhere or by compiling from source.

I decided to just recreate my project in version 17.12.3 of kdenlive, and it works perfectly.

Just to clarify what was happening to me: images had the wrong duration in the final rendered video, even though they were correct in the preview.
