I hope that you can help me. I am using version 21.08.3 on Windows 11.
I have been an occasional user of Kdenlive for a few years. Yesterday, I used Kdenlive for the first time in more than one year. I use Kdenlive in a very simple way. I create a PowerPoint and then do Printscreen to save each slide as a .png (each .png is used as a clip in Kdenlive). I then record a script using Audacity. The video that I create using Kdenlive is basically a narrated PowerPoint presentation, without any effects. I have done this dozens of times in the past without any issues. I ran into a problem when trying to do this yesterday. I set everything up (all clips were aligned with the audio) as usual. When I rendered, Kdenlive took my second clip (nothing special about that image) and shrunk the duration from about 30 seconds to 5 seconds. All subsequent clips were shifted forward by about 25 seconds and so the audio and images were out of synch. I set everything up again properly and saved the project file. When I open the project file again, the second clip had been shortened again and all subsequent clips had been advanced. After many trial-and-error attempts at fixing the problem, I finally came up with a band-aid solution that worked. I deleted the second clip from the first video track and added multiple copies of the same image as clips (each clip 5 seconds long except for the last) in the second video track. That allowed me to create my video yesterday. It feels to me like this is a bug. It certainly is frustrating. Sorry if I am not posting this in the correct place. Thanks. |

I am pleased to report that the problem is fixed with the daily build (version 22.03.70).
Ironically, the video that I was preparing was extolling the benefits of open source The community/forum and the responsiveness to fixing problems are some of the advantages of open source. Much appreciated! |
