This was working as recently as a few months ago for me but something has changed (probably a version update of something as I install updates regularly but use Kdenlive occasionally). Each video now shows:

Code: Select all
[AVHWDeviceContext @ 0x5653e0df3940] No VA display found for any default device.
Device creation failed: -22.
Failed to set value 'vaapi=vaapi0:,connection_type=x11' for option 'init_hw_device': Invalid argument
Error parsing global options: Invalid argument

I've tried different proxy profiles and the messages are similar.

Kdenlive 21.04.02
MLT 6.26.1
Fedora 33

I search for these errors and find a lot of different potential problems - hoping someone can help me find a shortcut!

This looks like a graphic card issue (vaapi). Try to update your graphic card driver. Let’s see if this fixes the issue.
