Hi,
I recently discovered that my directory C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\kdenlive\cache\proxy on Windows took about 91 GiByte. I think it is necessary to have some info in the status bar about the space used by this directory and a button to open it in a file manager. I was not aware of so many proxy clips for months. If I would have seen it every time I open kdenlive I would have deleted some older files. You don't need old proxy clips if you haven't touched a project in months. Maybe you could even add some delete dialog to delete proxy clips from old projects. I think it would also be nice to see in the clip tree if the proxy clip exists or not with a small marker or something. Otherwise, you have to open the context menu, look for the checkbox and guess that it has been rendered. |

As far as i know you can choose/set in the settings to use a thumbs/proxy/titles directory shared or under each project. If i remember well that question came on first startup after installation.
I've set that under each project, so when a project is finished i delete those surplus files filled directories (only those finished, and not the others still in use). That's under Ubuntu. Don't know if it's the same under win. If so i suggest you to set it that way to, as then it is easy to manage. |
