Please help, when I upload my video to Kdenlive it distorts my video color. Please use simple terms, I'm a newbie

Upload? You mean import?
What kind of video? Video type? File type?
What OS? Which kdenlive version?

Could be a Kdenlive prob, but also a video(cam) or file type prob. Which can appear when you haven't installed the right codecs for instance.
