Hi everyone
I am new to the forum, this is my first post. I've been using Kdenlive for small personal projects for a couple of years now. After installing Xubuntu LTS 22.04 can't use Kdenlive because not being able to maximaze it. (Fortunately I did not override the old Xubuntu 21.10, wich is in a separete partition) It worked fine on Xubuntu 21.10, which might suggest it's a problem with XFCE, but everything else works fine on the new xubuntu. Then I try with the old version of Kdenlive on the new Xubuntu LTS 22.04 and find that they work fine up to version kdenlive-21.04.3-x86_64.appimage after that beginning with kdenlive-21.08.1-x86_64.appimage has the same problem. That point to something that has changed in Kdenlive. Not reporting as a bug because I am not sure of that. /* Other than that, the new kdenlive-21.12.3-x86_64.AppImage seems to be missing some icons (put text instead) which makes it too wide and doesn't fit on the new xubuntu screen. But in old xubuntu, the same thing happened with icons, but it hid the last text buttons instead and show a triangle to indicate that there are more hidden. (not abnormal width) I've tried enough to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong. Both problems (may be related) are always reproducible My hardware is: Intel i5-8400 with 16 Gbytes of memory I will appreciate any suggestion. Ruben |

Hi, and welcome here...
running here 21.12.3 in XFCE 4.16.0, Manjaro (rolling release!) on i7-9700 + Intel-graphics, 1920x1080 - no such problems. Have regular package, but appimage did fit, too. Do you have a lower resolution (than full HD) screen? Got such effect on my notebook (1024x786), there it will not fit (on the too small screen). Or, can't you expand a small window to full screen?

Thanks for your answer.
I am using an Acer 1600 x 900 screen. The maximize (+) button just doesn't do anything and if I try to shrink the vertical axis I can't go far enough to fit it in the 900 pixels I'll try with a higher resolution monitor. |

Using a 1920 x 1080 pix monitor, it works fine.
But it would be sad if support for HD 1900 x 600 was dropped. It's pretty standard. I understand that a professional uses higher resolutions, but we normal people also use this program a lot. Hopefully there is some solution or workaround. Missing icons issue remains |

I think, it's more a bug than a feature.
Have had more such problems in the past, not only in kdenlive. I think, it is some mis-configuration in the graphics-layer. Maybe, the new 22.04 will be better... Your icons (and colors maybe) depend on some kde-libs. Maybe they are missing in your Xubuntu. But, I'm no kde-guru. Did you try the appimage? It should include all things needed. Edit: Just seen, you have text instead icons in your workspace. Cannot try it yet, but I am sure, you can configure your workspace to show icons and/or text.

Please delete this file: ~/.config/kdenlive-appimagerc and try again.

Just tried the new appimage (22.04) - will fit into my 1024x768 screen.
I think, your machine should do also... If you're still missing some icons, try to install breeze-icon-theme or whatever your packager named it. Search in your package-tool for 'breeze' and pick the right.

I am using appimage Now it works well. Apparently it was a xubuntu (xfce) problem that was fixed now. Thank you all and I consider the problem solved. |
