I also use the translator .....
According to members of the French Community of Manjaro, the error
displayed in console after the closure of Kdenlive would mean it is a problem with GTK and Gnome is GTK just like XFCE. Admittedly, under gnome the problem comes when in the "new video title" we want to modify the color of the text for example. Kdenlive Crashe. To see the mistakes, I have opens Kdenlive from a console |

good idea, will try it
-------------- When I start Kdenlive via the terminal, I have quite few crashes. But when it does happen, it shows: Speicherzugriffsfehler (Speicherabzug geschrieben) Memory access error (memory dump written).

My prefered choise is Ubuntu as that is the most full linux OS with everything in it.
This doesn't say that other distri's aren't good. Also have (and had) other ones in use (xbuntu, dsl, puppy) and they mostly do well too, but there i am confronted quicker with inconveniences then with ubuntu. This is my general view on and experience with my OS version choice, and not particularly for kdenlive for which it also applicates. |

Yes, it looks like the choice of Linux distro is not at all critical to whether Kdenlive runs well.
Probably it is much more important to install the right drivers. Since I'm working with a computer without an extra graphics card, but only with the intel chip on board, it would be interesting to know which intel drivers should really be installed. By default, not all are installed. Does anyone of you know? |

As far as i know all needed are installed. Except for those where the OS drivers do fine. Need to say that i always check the checkbox at install which makes that "external drivers" will be installed. And a cable wifi connection so those can be downloaded. |

Hallo zolder,
I asked about intel drivers because I recently had problems with a new version of LibreOffice and support recommended that I also install this one: intel-media-driver. This did not help because the error was in the LO version. (I simply made a downgrade and LO no longer crashes). So, because there are so many other drivers from Intel, I wondered if it would do Kdenlive good to install one or the other in addition. But normally Kdenlive runs fine. Except for so stupid crashes, especially when I change the colors in texts or very often undo an action. |

You solved it! Great.
Yes. Sometimes something doesn't go right (or goes wrong aka crash). I would advice to check the crash reports to be send. My experience is that soon after that (personal) corrections come with next updates and fails dissapear by themselves. That's the goal of those crash reports. "Linux" (developers community) needs to know where something goes wrong and that it needs to be fixed. That can go up to the level "your hardware conflicts with LO" where a dedicated repair for you will be created (either LO or linux, where the problem exists). You will only experience that by "it works again by itselve" which i often had (even after days of trying to solve the problem without results) |
