I am new to the forum along with video editing. I have been playing with Kdenlive for several years now, but still have a lot to learn. I recently got a new camera the DJI osmo action 3 and can not get kdenlive to generate proxy clips with files from it. It gives me this error each time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the error I get "[mov @ 0x55fa3eb46780] Could not find tag for codec h264 in stream #2, codec not currently supported in container
Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?): Invalid argument
Error initializing output stream 0:0 --"

These are heavy compressed files. Try the following after importing the clip: right click the clip -> Transcode to edit friendly formats. Once done create the proxy clip.

I have an AMD system, R5 5600x with a RX6000 graphics card. I am running endeavourOS. My system detected hardware VAAPI acceleration, but for some reason it is not working. Setting the proxy encoder from automatic to MPEG2 is now allowing me to make proxy settings. I am new to a lot of this, but am guessing I need to edit the ffmpeg settings to get the other encoders to work.
