My current video is about 1h cut down into 15m of many clips, plus an extra ~40m clip I still have to edit.
I occasionally go back to the start and make some edits there, though it takes a long time to go into effect. At one point, it even crashed (thankfully I saved ). Is there any settings I can change to solve this? Or is this in the roadmap to fix? Thanks. P.S. I am on Windows 11, Kdenlive 22.12.2

To add to this, I've noticed that if I extract a clip early in the video, Kdenlive crashes. So far every time.

There are several performance improvements in the works for 23.04 so you might get some relief there soon. 22.12.3 has some performance boosts but predominantly bug fixes so you may want to check this out.
Generally speaking, if you make changes at the beginning of your timeline and kdenlive then has to move all the other clips around there is a lot that kdenlive has to adjust so it is no surprise it takes a while. So you better plan ahead and avoid that (yeah, I know it's easier said than done)

Yeah, I figured that it would be a bit hefty. Though having the software crash and risking losing my project is my main issue. As long as that's resolved, I could care less about the performance for the time being! Thanks for the response about the update. Glad to know it's being worked on. Thanks! |
