Can't Extend Length of Animated Gif

Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:47 pm
I took a picture my oldest daughter drew and turned it into an indefinitely looping animated gif. It loops "forever" in Google Chrome like it should, but when I import it into Kdenlive 22.04.2-x86_x64, it only plays for a few seconds.

Kdenlive normally allows me to drag the right edge of image clips in the time line so I can make the clip longer or shorter as desired; unfortunately, with my animated gif, I can shorten it as much as I want, but I can't make it any longer.

I can paste copies of my animated gif clip next to each other to get the animation effect I want, but then I have problems with separate key frame animations over the whole group of clips. Also, there doesn't seem to be anyway to "glue" my clips together:

Unfortunately, I don't see a "loop" option in the properties for my animated gif.

How can I make my short animated gif loop for hours/days in Kdenlive like Nyan Cat does on YouTube while treating my clip as a single entity?

usually i JOIN multiple GIFs of the same type using "external tools"... i think there is not an alternative solution right now. (if i can suggest the online gifmaker site can join multiple gifs loading them ... i load the same gif 5 or 6 times on loading screen and after that i select "create a gif animation" )
