The longer I work with Kdenlive, the more I like it. In this video I finally managed to do color grading beyond simply slapping a boring Protune RGB decompression curve on the raw footage. While surely far from perfect I color graded for warmer evening light (well, I tried at least), while white balancing was switched off during the aerial shots.
I'm still trying to figure out what kind of color processing GoPro does in its camera when Protune is off. But I like the freedom I get in post processing with Protune on, where all the in-cam color processing is switched off. Burg Thann (YouTube) I've used a DJI Phantom quadcopter, upgraded with the fine DJI H3-2D gimbal. The cam is a GoPro HD Hero 3 Black Edition. I shot in 1080p Narrow FOV ... which makes it difficult to notice that this footage actually comes from a GoPro action cam. Constructive feedback highly welcome, especially when it comes to grading! Even if it is highly subjective in part, I would like to hear of other tricks and effect stacks ... to learn more and improve on other ideas. |
