I use Kdenlive all the time for my professional projects. This was one of the most recent ones done with the latest development build of Kdenlive (before the 16.04 release).

How did you do this transition between 3sec and 4sec? Was this done in blender or in kdenlive? I amsking as I am desperately looking for this effect in kdenlive

@vylaern, that transition was done specifically in Blender, and is hard-coded into those video clips. I moved the camera to the right where my equipment was that I was showcasing, and along the way I made a bright yellow plane that "whooshed" by, going from right to left, as the camera was moving left to right. So, that part was all done in Blender.

Many thanks for the answer.
I am asking, as this is popular wipe in others video editing programs, and I am missing it in kdenlive. BTW. Grat video |

Thank you very much.
There is definitely a wipe transition in Kdenlive. Which version are you running, and on which OS? Depending on the version, I could direct you in Kdenlive where to find and use the Wipe transition. There are also more ways than a stock transition effect to achieve the wipe look. This can be done in Kdenlive, but the motion blur of the bar sliding from right to left wouldn't be there, and that tends to break the look of the effect. I've been in dialog with the developers about this.

Sorry, I have got a wipe, but I meant "such" wipe/transition/ or wahtever it is called, which gives this effect: https://s15.postimg.org/c7v26q50b/wipe.jpg So there is a scene, the blury, fast, moving into next scene. This is so popular in many videos. p.s. I think it is call speed blur transitions: https://youtu.be/rPsxCBZKndQ ^^ like here 06s-08s Do we have something like that in kdenlive? And here is called whip pan transition: https://youtu.be/TjAv2vRlvqE 014s-016s Whip (swish) Pan Transition - Premiere Pro https://youtu.be/ZsnWsMpUo2Q |

Hi there,
you can compose such a transition by bluring the two pictures on track 1 and 3, move them simultanously with pan&zoom. On track 2 add the white rectangle and move it accordingly to the other pictures. Compose over the three tracks. Somehow like this I have done such an effect with another editor years ago. |

Could you explain a bit more, please.
I am so desperate to have it, so I am ready to buy another partition with Windows and Adobe Premiere CC. In this tutorial, it is a part of camera movement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe-eHMBd6g8 |

Will try to create an example this weekend.

That....is...impressive! And, if I might so comment, yes you used KDEnlive and Blender but you "have the touch" about just "what" to show and how to do it.
Again, that is...impressive! If you don't mind I would like to show this before my physics sections, (college) there is one student who is in his second semester using the Windows apps to make a game. woodlikesitsmoke |

Hi there,
played around with how to create this effect with kdenlive. Set up two tracks like this
Assuming you have full HD footage: 1. Cut (razor) V1 at point 1 2. Cut V2 at point 4 3. Add Pan&Zoom to section between 1-2 4. Add Pan&Zoom to section between 3-4 5. For V1 create or adjust keyframes with x=0 at point 1 and x=-1920 at point 2 (other values unchanged) 6. For V2 create or adjust keyframes with x=1920 at point 3 and x=0 at point 4 (other values unchanged) That moves the video on track 1 out while the clip on track 2 comes in. Hope this is what you wanted... While checking this quickly yesterday evening, the clip on V1 moved half screen width at point 1, giving a black bar between V1 and V2, but then moved as expected out of the screen... But you will get this sorted. |

This is just a wipe what you have created. But I think the guys are speaking about this fast wipe with the speed effect. |

Ah, yes...
Feel free to add blur or distortion effects to V1 and V2 between 1..2 and 3...4. for the fast movement look. Keep space between 1..2 short to have the wipe faster. |
