Hello editors

Besides the great refactoring that is going on, we are also revamping our website and adding a video gallery section to feature a selection of curated works/productions made with Kdenlive.

Please share here a link of your video along with a brief description, workflow and/or anything you find relevant to share with the community.

Does the video have to be special in case of effects or something else?
I have done hundreds of videos with Kdenlive because i use it for my whole youtube channel/videos. I also edit in 4k for a year now.

It is free really but I would say it must have some form artistic/poetic/visual value (but not limited to only that I guess?). Have a look at the current showcase section in the website to maybe have a clearer idea.

Here is an example video where i documented how i build my terrarium. Intro is made in blender, rest is all kdenlive. I used wipes, lift/gamma/gain, titles and inserted arrows using titles.

Both of these videos have been done using kdenlive and gimp :

They are pretty old but are still some of the ones i'm the most proud of.

I volunteer with IMMRAC (a marine mammals research and preservation NGO), and while at sea I sometime take some vids from a drone.
100% of the editing is done on Kdenlive (and linux ;) )

No dolphins, though a nice vid where I tried to get color correction right.

Everybody loves dolphins :) (This was my first serious experience with Kdenlive)

Here is the link of my first video montage with Kdenlive.
My workflow was only Gimp and Kdenlive, and Audacity for an home made music recording. I hope you'll like it, it was a nice and fun try :) !

I'm not a movie maker, I just started last year. In such a narrative driven short like this, I take an approach, that James Rolfe once talked about: The voiceover determines the pacing. The Rest is a bunch if hard cuts.

I like kdenlive for its simple interface and a bunch of nice little features like track wide effects and endless Codecs and formats it can read and produce.

Not a professional edit at all. Here is a 2 years old video using great kdenlive ;)

https://vimeo.com/159824807

Just trying to follow the music rythm with hard cuts, the video is about a reunion of aeromodelling just having fun with small handmade planes.

Video of a day at my brother's house's construction site :)
Completely done in KDEnlive.
The first cut involved quite a lot of dissolves, which I changed to harder cuts in the 2nd cut.

Hi All ;D
Here is the first proper music video that I created for a band called "Don't Poke The Bear",
I did everything including shooting, editing and VFX
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6rdk0h_OyQ

I used Kdenlive's color grading tools extensively together with the rotoscoping tool. There is a scene at 1:56 which was created entirely inside of Kdenlive using the mirror tool, rotoscoping tool and keying tools. All of the other VFX were created using Blender. The last shot used the rotoscoping tool yet again to created blue colours around the edges of the frame and warm colors inside.

I may as well post a second one while I'm at it;
here is a short wedding video I shot, all coloring was done in Kdenlive and the speed effect was used extensively.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkF9rVpKBlY

I'm working on another music video that should be coming out in the next month or so that will use solely Kdenlive and Blender again (because I love them), so I'll be sure to submit that once it's done as well.

Thanks for reading my rambling
Tim :)
