Hi there,

I am new here and into Kdenlive only for a couple of months.
IT IS SO MUCH FUN :) :) :)

Coming from electronic music production in Ardour, getting into Kdenlive wasn't too hard.
The only feature I really miss so far are "buses", where you can route several video tracks into one in order to apply effects only once.
I use this all the time in Ardour. Kdenlive has just the master bus. Hasn't it?

Anyhow, I made a music video for one of my songs:
https://youtu.be/RgDEGGtWQmE

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The face recognition is done with Python and the dlib get_frontal_face_detector() trained with the free for non-commercial use "shape_predictor_68_face_landmarks.dat" dataset:
https://github.com/davisking/dlib-models
https://ibug.doc.ic.ac.uk/resources/fac ... notations/

The "tiles" are light paintings rearranged with some lines in Python using the PIL toolbox. The "flashing" is done with a Sobel filter.
The moths pictures are from https://freesvg.org/.
The gorgeous slow motion moth sequence is from here: https://www.tumblr.com/albinaalinari/187620391006

Hope it is appropriate writing so much in the first post :)

Cheers,

You can assign effects to each track by using the magic wand button. It opens the track effects stack.

I like the clever use of masks and transparency in this video. Well done!

Thanks, this is helpful :) But I really miss buses, which would let route several track into one bus, where I would apply effects only once.
Instead I render out and re-import parts of the project where I would naturally to the "bus" route trick. Not elegant, but I know no better way.

Do you? @berndmj

No, I don't use buses or have a need for them. I am vaguely familiar with it but don't use them. So far kdenlive does what I need to do, for more complex stuff I use Davinci Resolve (e.g. text animation or 3D stuff).
