Ubuntu 11.04. 64 bit.

Installed from the repo as per instructions here:
http://kdenlive.org/user-manual/downloading-and-installing-kdenlive/pre-compiled-packages/ubuntu-packages

There are no transitions available in the transitions list - it's just blank, and searching hasn't found any answers. Can't find where to start to solve the problem. Any help appreciated! :)

Maybe your MLT installation is broken. What does this return?

melt -query "transitions"

I found that too. However if you right click on the clip where you want the transition to be, a list of actions appears including add transition. When you select "add transition" the drop down box in the transitions list pane becomes live. You can then select the transition that you want. If there are any user selectable variables attached to a transition they appear in that pane.

I don't know if this method of transition selection is peculiar to me but it seems to work!
