Hello,

I've seen, Grof has already done a RPM of Kdenlive 0.7.3 for Fedora 11.

Is it planned also for Fedora 10?

I've experienced some crashes under F10 but before to report any bug i'd like to test the last version.

Hello,

Yes, Kdenlive 0.7.3 and MLT 0.3.8 are on my repo for F11, but just I said earlier, my (our) intention is put Kdenlive on RPM Fusion repo, so this task started before some time and you can track the progress here:

MLT: https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527

MLT++: https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=528

Kdenlive: https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529

As you can see, we have seriously problems with MLT and Kdenlive under F10 with Segmentation Faults.

This Faults appearing only on F10 (I did not test under F9)  but not on F11. For now we can only speculating why is that...

For now I am concentrating  on make valid packages for Fedora on RPM Fusion repo, so F10 on my repos is still waiting.

Thanks a lot for you answer and for your efforts... then I stay tuned ;-)

In the last days I've testes many video editing software for linux, and Kdenlive ist by far the best one!

Huh, some new infos about MLT and Segmentation faults under F10.

I successfully localize a problem.

So, this Faults happens only if build MLT with ffmpeg-devel package.

Without ffmpeg (avformat option in MLT) inigo and miracle binaries do not

reports Seg. faults.

Why?

I do not know, maybe the problem laying somewhere under ffmpeg package, and not

under MLT???

To recall, this does not happen on Fedora 11!

Packaging of MLT and Kdenlive are stopped on Fedora official repo (RPM Fusion)

As a packager on Fedora I must to say that packaging process of MLT and Kdenlive is stopped on Fedora.

The main reason is a very arrogant attitude of  MLT developer towards the Fedora community, so nobody wants to make review.

Also, I will continue to create packages for Fedora 11 (and F10 if  I or someone resolve bugs) for Fedora users to my private repos.

Remember, the whole conversation, correspondence can be seen here:

https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527

Just a note that we resumed this work; MLT 0.4.0 is working and accepted for F11! More than likely kdenlive will proceed with the next release: 0.7.4.

Yes, it is true, at last :)

Kdenlive is in progress and will be packaged for RPM Fusion when 0.7.4 arrive.

Note about Fedora 10:

At Fedora 10 branch we have serious problem with Segmentation Faults under MLT (probably because of ffmpeg issue at F10). So, for now we are not planning Kdenlive for Fedora 10, sorry.

The Latest news.

Kdenlive 0.7.4 for Fedora 11 is now a part of RPM Fusion repo!

Kdenlive 0.7.4 for Fedora 10 is NOT a part of RPM Fusion yet, but this release can be found on my repository.
(for repository settings see: http://www.kdenlive.org/user-manual/downloading-and-installing-kdenlive/pre-compiled-packages/fedora-packages)

Is this crash only at the time of exit? I vaguely recall from the backtrace on the fusion bugzilla ticket that it crashes when tyring to exit and close resources. If that is the case, then while this may not qualify for inclusion in the official repo, then it ought to be still be quite usable for people who want to get it from your page, no?

I think that crashes are not happening only at exit from KDenlive but after Rendering function, too. Check it if you can!

Yes because kdenlive launches a child melt process for the render. I think the rendered files will be usable tho.
