I'm new at anything Linux. I have an AMD64 machine; I updated to Ubuntu 9.04 from 8.10 using Ubuntu update/install. With 9.04, I installed Kdenlive 0.7.3 through Synaptic Manager. It works perfectly, and I'm very happy with what I can do. What do I gain by trying to update to 0.7.4? It sounds like people are having headaches with the update??? I also don't understand what I have to get rid of in 0.7.3 to update to 0.7.4.
Thanks, s. |

If your version is working fine, I wouldn't bother. However, if you need some new features or run into any problems you could do an upgrade.
If you are new to linux I would recommend you use one of the repositories/debs on this forum rather than compiling from source. See http://kdenlive.org/bug-reports |

Thank you, Geoffrey. I'll probably stick with 7.3 for now, but I see that 7.3 is also deprecated. Eventually, I'll probably have to do something...:-)

FYI: 0.7.5 will be out in about a week. Perhaps the distros will pick up this version quickly.
