I've got Portable Ubuntu running - a toolbar version of Ubuntu on my Windows Vista desktop (Version DOS (as in TWO) release 4 from http://portableubuntu.demonccc.com.ar/download ) just to see how it works.

Can I get Kdenlive up and running with it, or is it a waste of time trying to run anything other than 9.10? I'm curious to see if it's faster than a VirtualBox or not. Can the latest version of Kdenlive work with 9.04?

OK so I went ahead and tried it, and it works. Nice way for a Windows user to try out Ubuntu and see how Kdenlive works.
Shame it's just as slow as in a VirtualBox though :)

I hope this may encourage any Windows users who stumble onto it, to give Linux and Kdenlive a try
