I can't get it to work.

When I installed Ubuntu I was able to play with the kdenlive version that installs via the app manager.

the problems started when i installed the sunab release.

Removed everything (including ffmpeg) 3-4 times and installed everything according the suggestions, but nothing works.

The MLT SDL plugin is not loading for some reason. This plugin is responsible for the on-screen video and sound output. I can't help you out much more than that as this might be specific to your environment. Well, you could try updating from sunab since maybe you grabbed it on a bad day.
