Fatal Error

Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:38 pm
Hi all,

I am running lucid 10.04 and I have tried both upgrading and installing 0.8 with the new sunab. I seem to get the same, "Fatal Error - MLT's SDL module not found, Please check your MLT install. Kdenlive will not work until this issue is fixed". I have deleted the config file in .kde/share/config file and opened Kdenlive again with no luck, same error. Any ideas folks.

Thanks

how did you make previous installs. Hand compilation, scripted compilation, packages?

sunab.

I just installed it from the Ubuntu repositories with the package manager. 0.7 installs fine that way. When I add the ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release and update to install new or upgrade I get that fatal error. :(

Tested here in a fresh install of 10.04 (virtual machine).

-> installed 0.7.7.1 from official repositories
-> upgraded to 0.8 with my ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release

No problems found.

Your problem reminds me an old bug report http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=913
What's the frei0r-plugins version installed on your system?
What is the output of this command in a terminal?
melt -version

I started getting this problem in the last week. I don't know why.
I've removed all the video programs and mlt's from everywhere in my system - restarted and reloaded kdenlive from scratch. Same problem.

Any brilliant ideas will be appreciated. I'm relying on kdenlive for a job. Help!
