Followed the instructions on the download page for Ubuntu 9.10 binary install. Once the install completed I tried to run Kdenlive and got "Kdenlive - The KDE Crash Handler" instead. Under "Developer Information" tab the stack trace is:

Application: Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault
[KCrash Handler]
#5 0x099dcf4a in get_param_name () from /usr/lib/frei0r-1/curves.so
#6 0x099dcf82 in f0r_get_param_info () from /usr/lib/frei0r-1/curves.so
#7 0x063739b2 in ?? () from /usr/lib/mlt/libmltfrei0r.so
#8 0x006cdadb in mlt_repository_metadata () from /usr/lib/libmlt.so.1
#9 0x00176365 in Mlt::Repository::metadata(mlt_service_type, char const*) const () from /usr/lib/libmlt++.so.2
#10 0x0816db36 in _start ()

I also noticed that Totem Movie Player no longer functions. I tried to reinstall Kdenlive and uninstall and then install again all resulting in the same crash. The only way I can get Totem to work is to fully uninstall Kdenlive and then reinstall Totem-gstreamer.

Any ideas on how to get it working?

Thanks,
Erik.
