Cannot write to path: /.mlt

Tue Feb 12, 2013 2:51 pm
I'm using the newest binaries for kdenlive and mlt from sunab-svn on Kubuntu 12.10, x86-64.

Trying to stabilize a clip results in the error message "Cannot write to path: /.mlt". Of course, it is not allowed to write anything directly into or next to the root. *shudder*

No stabilizing is done, however.

This error seems to be related to the situation where I have clips with the same name (as generated by GoPro's HD Hero cameras), but in different folders. When there is already an .mlt file in the project's root then this seems to cause this strange error...

Any help?

To be sure:
This happens when trying to stablilze one clip by using the "Stabilize" action under "Clip Jobs" the context menu of the project tree?
When stabilizing, you shoud get an option where ypi can set the stabilize settings. On top of it is the path where the stabilized .mlt file will be saved. What path is it showing there?

The dialog shows the correct full path to the clip file to be stabilized, with .mlt added. If this file already exists from a previous run, then the aforementioned error pops up. The error then only shows the mangled file&path name. Also, no UI dialog asking the user whether she/he wants to overwrite.
