I have a current Packman RPM (kdenlive-0.8.2.1-2.1.i586) installed on SuSE 11.3 (upgraded from 11.3, and installed with only the KDE3 desktop, except for KDE4 bits which satisfied dependencies) on my ThinkPad x61 laptop.
Yes, editing on a 12" monitor will be as uncomfortable as you expect. If I ever get to do it. Like so many people, I can't get any preview audio, no matter what I set the Playback->Audio Out setting to. And alas, even when I start KL in a terminal window, it doesn't seem to see fit to complain about whatever is wrong, so I don't know where to go to try to fix things... and there doesn't seem to be a debuglevel command line switch to turn up. These are DV2 AVI clips, grabbed manually with dvgrab as noted below, and mplayer2 plays them fine with audio as expected. I should also note that if I preview my timeline with the audio levels indicator enabled, it shows the expected audio from the clip I've placed on the timeline. I suspect my SDL is the the culprit -- melt filename gives no audio either -- but I'm not sure precisely how, as I'm not an SDL guru either. Any pointers on how to tell what it's unhappy about cheerfully accepted (and if it really just doesn't provide any debugging handles, here's a cheerful request to put some in, *because those are what distinguish Linux apps from Windows ones*... :-). And, FWIW: I know IRC isn't always a realtime support channel, but is *36 hours* really not long enough to wait for *someone* to notice an inquiry? |
