I have been using kdenlive 0.9.2 for several months without problem, using Ubuntu Precise (12.04) and kdennlive from the sunab ppa. Today it was upgraded to 0.9.4 and I am stuck. I can launch kdenlive but it crashes every time. I import a clip, save the kdenlive project, drag it into the project and start navigating throught it and setting markers. Sometimes it crashes when I import the clip, sometimes when I save the project, sometimes just clicking on the window.
Is there any way to get the 0.92 version back? It seems to have been removed from the ppa. Is there another place I can download it from? I tried going back to the version that is in the Ubuntu repository (0.8.2.1). That does not crash but does not work well either. Peter |

Strange. Can you please create a backtrace? See http://kdenlive.org/bug-reports "Step 3: Report a bug"

Same problem here, on Kubuntu, trying to load project from older version, 9.2, makes it crash...
EDIT: so my problem were not 'the same', but it did crash when I tried to load an old project. I noticed that the program, after upgrading 9.2>9.4 thougt that this were my first run, every time i started it, so, instead of trying to "file>open recent" I started the program and "file>quit" and next time I started it, it didn't show the"welcome to the new version" screen! After this "sucess" :) instead of "file>open recent" ( that made it crash..) I went to the kdenlivefolder and opened the file from there, and it works. I suspect that the crash had something to do with that kdenlive were looking in the wrong folder on "file>open recent" cos when I "file>open", I came to the kdenlivefolder on my other hdd (other installation). I don't know really, but it works! Lars |
