Tried to compile, and got this error while it was compiling producer_avformat.c from the MLT tree.

Seems like something has changed in ffmpeg?

Today I tried again, and it finished successfully. Changed nothing on my system, so no idea what was the cause of the problem.

I believe that the build script retrieves sources from their development repos. I expect periodic disruptions. :)

I also keep a few working versions archived for backup.

Yes, I guessed in that direction, too. Also have a few previous working versions, but more due to my laziness in deleting, than any cunning backup plan :-)
